Her husband was the local massage expert, and she had an older daughter with two small children. Our mother took us upstairs where there was a room set up with a mat on the floor, two glasses with two bottles of water, and a fan. She told us to take showers before dinner. The bathroom was outside, divided into two rooms. One had a toilet (which you squat over) and a container of water to flush with. The other had a bigger container of water for bathing.
