Thailand is in Southeast Asia surrounded by Burma, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. There are nearly 80 million people in Thailand and 95% of them are Buddhist. The north of Thailand is quite mountainous while the south is peninsula-like with lots of beaches. Vermont to Thailand goes to the Northeast (also known as "Isaan") near the Lao border. This area is less visited by tourists and less developed than other parts of the country, and it is rich in culture and history - and wonderfully friendly people.
